Junior Data Analyst (banking)

On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Zürich, we are looking for a Junior Data Analyst. Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity with a market leading global company then please have a look at the details:

Role:

  • The successful candidate would work in The Global PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) Desk (GPD) within the Financial Crime Compliance organization responsible for consistent implementation and application on a global level with key responsibilities in the on-boarding, monitoring, controlling and review process of relationship with PEPs and their associates on a global basis.
  • The team is Controlling, Engineering and Reporting team
  • Supporting the Global PEP Desk in its mandate for managing all PEP-related issues in an effort to mitigate the risks that this client base poses across the bank.
  • Providing guidance to existing and new employees regarding the sound application of the PEP policy and the various controls in place to monitor the risks associated with this particular high-risk client segment.
  • Advising and collaborating with regional colleagues as well as the front office on a regular basis to maintain continuity in our risk controls of the PEP client population.
  • Supporting the PEP Desk in deep dive analysis on client segments and regions to gauge specific risks and exposure to the bank.
  • Supporting the PEP Desk in documenting processes and procedures where the focus is controlling the risk of this client population.
  • Providing periodic reporting and analyses of statistics to both internal and external stakeholders as well as senior management.

Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis
  • Excellent Excel, Access skills, familiarity of databases
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills
  • Interest & passion for Compliance, risk topics and international political developments; affinity and knowledge of the international political developments is a key asset
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
  • Open, flexible, communicative and team-oriented with perseverance as an independent Control Function representative
  • Commitment to Excellence
  • High preference for local candidates
  • Preference of previous work experience in the banking sector with Compliance /Audit / Risk Control or consultancy functions with exposure to AML/KYC and High Risk Client topics
