Project Officer - Policy Development (Part time 20 hours pwk)

Are you a Project Officer with at least 3 years of professional experience in policy development, business processes analysis or program planning and management ? Was this experience gained within a multinational and multicultural environment and are you looking for an exciting new opportunity within a non-governmental organisation (NGO) ? Experis IT Switzerland is currently on the search for an Officer, Operational Policy to join one of their clients, an NGO, based in Geneva.

Your role:

The Officer, Operational Policy, supports the translation of Board policies and Senior Management direction into grant regulations / operational policies. You will support the provision of inputs into the conceptualization, development/revision and roll-out of grant regulations/operational policies, to ensure alignment with pre-existing regulations / operational policies and to address identified gaps. You will also be responsible to ensure that high quality, well-articulated, and well-structured outputs are produced.

Key Responsibilities

The Operational Efficiency Officer, will be responsible for steering an integrated, end-to-end business development and continuous improvement approach for the grant management processes s/he is responsible for. For her/his assigned processes, the Officer will be responsible for:

  • Grant Regulations and project management
    • Coordinate grant management regulations / operational policy and process development across divisions and departments, ensuring quality deliverables aligned with operational efficiency approach using rigorous work planning and project management approach
  • Business process change management & support
  • Compliance monitoring & learning

To deliver the required results, it's essential that you have:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in relevant field (operations, public policy, public health, finance, economics, business administration, informational technology, engineering or other relevant area or equivalent professional training.)
  • At least three years of professional experience, including in policy development
  • Experience with project management methodology;
  • Experience coordinating between cross-divisional teams;
  • Experience implementing organizational change using change management techniques.
  • Technical competency in Policy development
  • Fluent in English and French, working knowledge of one of the following: Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish.
