Legal Counsel

Experis IT Switzerland is on the search for an experienced Legal Professional to join an existing Swiss Legal Department. This exciting long-term contracting opportunity is only open to candidates with relevant experience, who are available to start in September.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing accurate and timely legal advice in relation to Non-Private Bank related Swiss law matters, in particular:
  • General legal advice in close cooperation with department heads in Switzerland for CIB, Markets and TTS as well as the Product Legal Teams usually based in the UK, Ireland and US
  • Reviewing & drafting contracts, client documentation, letters, etc. governed by Swiss law
  • Negotiating guarantees, non-disclosure agreements, procurements contracts and other legal documents
  • Providing legal advice with respect to local and regional/global regulatory projects (e.g. FMIA, FinSA, FinIA, EMIR, MiFID2, GDPR/DPA, etc.)
  • Support local, regional and global management in any Swiss law related matters
  • Providing legal advice to colleagues in other jurisdictions with regards to clients based and/or incorporated in Switzerland (e.g. regulatory queries, trade register, corporate governance related queries)
  • Managing (in cooperation with external counsel) litigation cases (incl. client complaints, HR cases, internal investigations)
  • Advising the business in queries related to corporate governance, Legal Vehicle organization and similar queries
  • Participating and representing the Swiss Legal Department in various local, regional and global meetings
  • Providing accurate and timely legal advice in relation to other Swiss law matters, as directed by the Department Heads

Your profile:

  • Masters in Law from a Swiss University
  • Swiss Bar would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate legal experience in a Swiss Bank (preferably with an international focus) or in a Swiss or International Law Firm (banking experience)
  • Experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, Markets and Transactions Services (AML, trade, payments) related issues, preferably in an international environment
  • Experience in projects implementing changes due to new laws and regulations
  • Teamwork: Ability to closely interact, cooperate and work on matters with team members as well as other departments
  • Dedication, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent MS-Office knowledge
  • Goal, deadline and process oriented
  • Languages: Excellent command of English and German (verbally and in writing), additional official Swiss language would be an advantage

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3.09.2018 - 02.08.2019 with firther possibility of internalisation
