Travel Assistant / Consultant

Are you a Consultant working in Travel with 5+ years prior work experience? Do you have at least 5 years experience in the travel department of an international organisation / company and are you looking for an exciting new opportunity within a non-governmental organisation (NGO) ? If so, please have a look at the following details:

Experis IT Switzerland is currently on the search for a Travel Consultant to join one of their clients, an NGO, based in Geneva.

Your role:

You will work closely with the Travel Management Company (TMC), providing technical and policy advice to travelers, and ensuring that up-to-date travel information is available.

You will report to the Manager, Administration Team, liaising with the TMC, the visa service provider and other external suppliers as required.

You will be expected to operate autonomously and to escalate only complex and high-risk matters to the Manager.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

Maintain the relationship with the in-house TMC, including monitoring the service level agreement as per the contract;
Ensuring adherence to the Clients travel policy;
Review the travel data provided by the TMC
Supervise administrative/analyst roles and coordinating workflows and schedules for the team;
Ensure timely payment of all weekly and monthly invoices, ensuring accurate reconciliation and resolution of outstanding cases to avoid delays;
Assist with all aspects of travel procurement using the internal (Oracle) system;
Perform other duties as required.

To deliver the required results, it's necessary that you have:

  • At least five years' experience in the travel department of an international organization or company;
  • At least five years of experience with information systems, analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency in Galileo or Amadeus travel reservation systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to Oracle applications
  • Excellent knowledge of the travel industry, including travel agency management, and IATA fare construction principles
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate services with minimum supervision
  • Diplomacy in dealing with people at the highest levels
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and establish priorities
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work and respond to short deadlines
  • Fluency in both English and French
