Overview of contract

On behalf of our client, a large bank in Switzerland, we are looking for a Java Back End Developer.

Location: Zürich

Start date: ASAP

End date: 31.12.2024

Main responsibilities

• Utilize expert knowledge of Java backend programming, REST interfaces, and container platform Kubernetes in the development and maintenance of cutting-edge financial applications.
• Implement and maintain a robust CI/CD pipeline using Docker, Harbor, gitlab, and Octopus for seamless software delivery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in streaming technologies, particularly Kafka, to enhance the performance and capabilities of financial services.
• Contribute to modern software development practices, including continuous delivery pipeline automation, GitLab, and ensuring comprehensive unit test coverage.
• Collaborate closely with the architecture team, taking ownership of artifacts such as Solution Design, Security Concept, and Interface Spec.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of the financial sector, including order management and trading, to deliver solutions that meet specific business requirements.
• Ensure up-to-date documentation of code, configuration, and application documentation.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in the field and continuously enhance skills to align with industry best practices.

Your skills:

• University Degree in Computer Science (Masters at University/ETH/FH).
• Certified Agilist and/or Scaled Agilist (SAFe) is a plus, with a strong emphasis on DevOps practices.
• Expert knowledge of Java backend programming, REST interfaces, Container platform Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline (Docker, Harbor, gitlab, Octopus)
• Knowledge and experience with streaming (Kafka)
• Generally very good understanding and experience with modern software development (continuous delivery pipeline automation with appropriate tools resp. gitlab, unit test coverage etc)
• Experienced working close with architecture and owning artifacts such as Solution Design, Security Concept, Interface Spec etc.

• Good presentation skills and visualization of issues and solution in Powerpoint and Visio. As such drives Big Picture and context

• Team oriented, flexible, proactive, autonomous, persistent and sustainable.
• Excellent communication skills in English
